Weaponry

ALthough we make no claim to be armorers, we do make up knives as "therapy" when the casting gods are not with us. Here are some of our completed projects. Our steel usually is purchased from blade suppliers and the hilts and scabbards are hand-fashioned by us. All scabbards are made with a welt to protect the lacing or stitching, and all parts are glued prior to any lacing or stitching. We build 'em to last! Those shown below are one of a kind. We will make yours according to your specifications if you don't see one below you really want to own. Our inventory is fluid, and we cannot guarantee that we have any one of the knives shown. If not we can, and will, make up what you are seeking. The weapons shown below are typical of what's available.

Please Note - All of these items are custom made from natural materials.  To order, please email or phone us to choose styles, designs, sizes etc.  The photos you see are examples of what we can make.  However, we need to discuss your preferences  to insure you get the one you really want.

Damascus Dirk, MapleDirk Cap, old style

A Damascus Dirk with a 16th Century styled hilt. Often the old original dirks had the hilts "bolted" on. The tang of the knife runs completely through the hilt and extends a short distance beyond the hilt end. This extension is threaded and a "washer" and a nut hold the whole works together. Here is our version, we, however, epoxy everything together so there is no slippage or loosening of the hilt. With an 11-3/4 blade and 512 layers of high carbon steel, and a laced scabbard this Dirk sells for $225.00

Military Dirk with furniture

A "military" dirk set.  This dirk has matching side furniture.  The dirk style is of the older type with a small fork and knife mounted on the face of the scabbard.  All three items have pewter bolsters and the furniture has pewter caps.  The antler handle of the dirk has not been capped so that the crown may be scrimshawed or capped with a stone or pewter.

This particular set is our own and not for sale. However, a similar set can be made up and in high carbon will run about $275.00. If made up with a Damascus Dirk blade and hand forged side furniture, the set will run about $400.00

Furniture for Dirks

Here are some examples of the "side furniture" for the Military Dirk set. Shown with Ebony handles (on the left) or Walnut handles (on the right). Antler is also available, please contact us for details and costs. These sets run $35.00 per set.
